Filmmaker of the Year Award

The Blaine Miller Filmmaker of the Year Award

Blaine Miller was a director, producer, and screenwriter who was sadly taken from us too soon.  In honor of Blaine, we have created the Blaine Miller Filmmaker of the Year Award.

Each year going forward, we will present this award to an individual who has displayed the following attributes:
  • A strong commitment to the art of filmmaking
  • Their work within the community consistently reflects quality and professionalism
  • Selflessly supports fellow filmmakers within the community
  • Embodies the belief that a film community is stronger together than any can achieve individually

Recipients

2019

The 2019 recipient of the Blaine Miller Filmmaker of the Year Award is Helen Kearney Konen! For years, Helen has shown herself to love all things surrounding film, particularly acting. She is an amazing acting coach and her love and dedication to her students is evident in all she does. So many months of being a part of CFC, her students are there learning and engaging all because she believes in their being a part of this community. She represents all that we want this award to stand for and we are honored to present it to her.
